KC & the Sunshine Band
Break out your bellbottoms and your dancing shoes as one of the greatest icons of the pop era - KC and The Sunshine Band - will perform on the beautiful back lawn of Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
Also featured will be a spectacular performance by The "Y-M-C-A" gang - The Village People.
KC & The Sunshine Band is still as widely popular today as they were when they first danced onto the music scene 37 years ago. Harry Wayne Casey…KC…for short… developed a unique fusion of R&B and funk, with a hint of a Latin percussion groove, giving us an impressive string of hits that cross generational boundaries and are loved by people of all ages.
Their mega hit list includes:
“Get Down Tonight”
”That’s The Way (I Like It)”
”Shake Your Booty”
”I’m Your Boogie Man”
”Keep it Comin’ Love”
”Boogie Shoes” and many more.
The band and their music are much more than a nostalgic trip down memory lane by a band whose time has come and gone. Their songs are timeless wonders that have remained popular for over 30 years…and are still some of the most popular songs played on radio stations all across the country today. The impact of the band’s music also has spawned the use of expressive phrases by people in everyday life…like “That’s the way…uh huh…uh huh…I like it.” Twenty-three performers and dancers accompany KC on stage creating a spectacular high energy show that covers every square foot of the stage. Every song is an ensemble performance by every member of the band…and is unmatched in many entertainment circles today… motivating spontaneous dancing in the aisles and seats during the majority of the performance.
